GTD Overwhelm

I've been practicing GTD for, I don't know, 7 or 8 years now and I feel overwhelmed. I'm not doing the stuff on the lists, and I have too much stuff on my lists. I'm going to start fresh with a new system called AutoFocus.

  • Sounds like Getting Things Done with built in permission to just not do things after they've kicked around for a while. I'll be interested to hear how you get on with it. I do the "little and often" thing a lot already and find it helpful.

  • This looks like a good system. He seems to have refined it and called it SuperFocus. I think I'll try this myself, thanks for the tip!

  • Good point, Phil. Yes, I think SuperFocus is the most recent version of it.

  • Tom - Yeah true. Also it's about having just 1 list , instead of a bunch of different context lists, which may help to prevent "out of sight, out of mind".

  • I found all of those systems to be energy draining. It is probably the reason that the author has come up with so many versions. At first the idea was attractive, but over time I found that having gigantic lists wasted more time than it saved. I found that a prioritized To Do list the simplest and best answer.
