How to close the flap on an OtterBox iPhone case
There are many complaints that the bottom flap on an Otter Box Defender iPhone case fails to close.
I studied the flap, and the problem is that there is a big ridge along the outer edge of the flap (probably to ensure a tight friction fit). So if you want to close the flap and have it stay closed, give the flap a good hard squeeze on both sides when closing it. This will push the ridge in; when you relax it, the ridge will expand and push out against the hard case wall.

I bought this case and figured out how to close the flap and I have Muscular Dystrophy so it is almost effortless. I placed one end of the flap under the small edge of the hard part of the case. You will see/feel the flap tuck under here. I then press with a flap downward and back along the edge. The soft cover will flex a little, great. Once you reach the other end then a slight press down on the center of the flap will lock it into place.

I agree with the first Anonymous comment that the Otter Defender case is barely worth half of what they charge for it.
Most of the time the bottom flap won't close and it always closed OK when I first got the case.
The top and side flaps are getting more difficult to close too.
