Yak Long Distance
Trying to get our long-distance bill down. Friend recommended Yak (3.5¢/min) – I'd heard of it before.
Anyway, signed-up online and the neat thing about it is that it will transparently replace our long distance provider (Telus).

Here's a potentially cheaper plan: if you have free/cheap US calling, you can get free international calling through an outfit called futurephone.
I haven't tried this, I've just heard of it.
And, until the end of the year, you can get free USCanada calling through SkypeOut. I have done this and it works fairly well

Thanks for the tip Darusha – checking out futurephone now.
Yeah - have used SkypeOut - I'll need to try that again.

Try JaJah.com If you and your friends register you can call each other totally free (no contracts involved). Just dial by computer through the JaJah website, then use your regualr phone. We call the from B.C. to the U.K. free all the time. If your friends don't sign up, it is still very cheap 2.5 c U.S. per minute and you can pay by credit card. You can make a 5 minute test call free, just to try it.
